先日、私が幼稚園前からリトミック、ピアノと
１０年余り見させて頂いている中学２年の松本君がクラブの演奏会でホルンを演奏する姿を見ました。ピアノの前とは、また違った凛々しい姿に見え「彼にとって音楽が良い趣味、教養になったなぁ…。」と、私にはまるで我が子が立派に成長したかの様に感じられました。
ピアノのお稽古を始めるとき「将来、音楽を身近に感じてほしいから。」とよくおっしゃいます。これが、始める動機のほとんどです。しかし、ピアノのお稽古 は一生涯するものではありません。「お稽古」としてのレッスン小学生中頃まで。その後は「趣味」「教養」としてのレッスンになります。「お母さんに言われ るから」「先生が誉めてくれるから」ではなく「やりたいから」が必要です。そしてやがて「ピアノをやめる（退会する)」という時が来ます。これは、これま でを糧として新しい関わりを持つ時かも知れません。そんな時「よく頑張ったね、卒業やね。」と言って肯定してあげてほしいと思います。ピアノのお稽古を通 して、音楽といい関わりが持てるようになったら、それは当初の目的を果たし「辞める」ではなく「修める（卒業）」という事です。物事は終わってから「いっ たいなんやったんやろう？？？」と考えますが、ピアノのお
稽古を通して学ばれたことは、自分が音楽を身近に感られるのみでなく、様々な事にきっと生かされる事と思います。そして、レッスンだけでなく、発表会は非 常に大切な経験の機会です。一人でも多くの方が素晴らしい経験をしていただける様望んでいます。　　　　　　　　　　　　佐伯
